Following are the routes that we believe are the most direct for you to reach central Vermont and our Mad River Valley Vermont bed and breakfast -- the Inn at the Round Barn Farm. From Boston:
Mileage: 190 miles
Driving time: 3 hours, 30 minutes

Leave the Boston area on Interstate 93 North. In Concord, NH connect with Interstate 89 North. Travel 120 miles through NH and Vermont. After passing Montpelier, VT you will take Exit 9 (Middlesex) off Interstate 89. The Inn at the Round Barn is a total of 14 miles from Exit 9. At the Exit 9 off ramp, turn left. At the stop sign for Route 2, turn left. Drive 0.4 miles and make a right turn onto Route 100B South. Travel 12 miles to Historic Waitsfield Village. Just after the Mobil station and Village Grocery on your right, turn left onto Bridge Street/East Warren Road. Pass through the one-lane covered bridge, and travel 2 miles on East Warren Road to The Round Barn Farm on your left.

From Hartford, CT
Mileage: 200 miles
Driving time: 3 hours, 30 minutes

Follow Interstate 91 North through Massachusetts and Vermont. In White River Junction, Vermont, connect with Interstate 89 North for 55 miles to Exit 9, Middlesex. The Inn at the Round Barn is a total of 14 miles from Exit 9. At the Exit 9 off ramp, turn left. At the stop sign for Route 2, turn left. Drive 0.4 miles and make a right turn onto Route 100B South. Travel 12 miles to Historic Waitsfield Village. Just after the Mobil station and Village Grocery on your right, turn left onto Bridge Street/East Warren Road. Pass through the one-lane covered bridge, and travel 2 miles on East Warren Road to the Round Barn Farm on your left.

From New York:

NOTICE - As of 10/16/09 -The Champlain Bridge at Crown Point New York is closed indefinitely. Please use directions below for all points south and west in New York.

Driving time: 6 hours

Leave the NY area on the NY State Thruway 87 North to Albany, New York. The NY State Thruway, Interstate 87, connects to the Northway near Albany. Take the Northway to Exit 20. The sign indicates Route 149 towards Fort Ann. Take a left hand turn off the ramp and onto Route 149 towards Fort Ann. Stay on 149 through Fort Ann to Whitehall.

In Whitehall, NY turn right onto Route 4 at the traffic light. Take Route 4 North through Rutland Vermont. You will go through a series of lights and will then turn right, staying on Route 4 North. This will take you past the Pico Ski Area. Take a sharp left turn after the Greenbriar Gift Shop onto Route 100 North. Travel on Route 100 North to Waitsfield. From the Northway to Waitsfield, it is about two hours on these beautiful back roads. In the center of Historic Waitsfield Village, you will see the Bridge Street Marketplace on your right. Turn right on Bridge Street/East Warren Road. Pass through the one-lane covered bridge, and travel 2 miles on East Warren Road to the Round Barn Farm on your left.

From Washington, D.C.:
Mileage: 490 miles
Driving time: 11 to 12 hours

From the Washington, D.C. area, follow Interstate 95 North and connect with Interstate 87 North in New York. The NY State Thruway, Interstate 87, connects to the Northway near Albany. Take the Northway to Exit 20. The sign indicates Route 149 towards Fort Ann. Take a left hand turn off the ramp and onto Route 149 towards Fort Ann. Stay on 149 through Fort Ann to Whitehall.

In Whitehall, NY turn left onto Route 4 at the traffic light. Take Route 4 North through Rutland Vermont. You will go through a series of lights and will then turn right, staying on Route 4 North. This will take you past the Pico Ski Area. Take a sharp left turn after the Greenbriar Gift Shop onto Route 100 North. Travel on Route 100 North to Waitsfield. From the Northway to Waitsfield, it is about two hours on these beautiful back roads.

From Montreal:
Mileage: 140 miles, (that’s 220 km!)
Driving time: 2 hours, 30 minutes

From Montreal Airports, take Route 15 through Montreal and follow signs to Route 10 East. Take Route 35 South to Route 133 South and enter the USA. From the USA border follow Interstate 89 South to Exit 10, Waterbury. At the off ramp, bear right and follow Route 100 South (turning several times) for 15 miles to Historic Waitsfield Village. Just after the Mobil station and Village Grocery on your right, turn left onto Bridge Street/East Warren Road. Pass through the one-lane covered bridge, and travel 2 miles on East Warren Road to the Round Barn Farm on your left.

From the Burlington International Airport:
Mileage: 30 miles
Driving time: 40 minutes

Exit the airport left on Rt. 2 South, proceed approximately 2.5 miles to Rt. 2A. Turn right, go less than a mile to the highway. Turn left at the second entrance, heading South on Interstate 89 to Exit 10, Waterbury. At the off ramp, bear right and follow Route 100 South (turning several times) for 15 miles to Historic Waitsfield Village. Just after the Mobil station and Village Grocery on your right, turn left onto Bridge Street/East Warren Road. Pass through the one-lane covered bridge, and travel 2 miles on East Warren Road to the Round Barn Farm on your left.
